We now have several positions for postdoctoral researcher and research assistant professor. The focus is to use first principles approaches to understand novel physical properties induced by spin-orbit coupling, topological materials, strong correlation physics, etc.

Professor Qihang Liu's group at the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China has been working on computational modelling of functional materials through first-principles approaches. We are interested in general electronic and structural properties of crystals, surfaces, interfaces, low-dimensional systems, and electron transport through nanostructures. A PHD degree in condensed matter physics or a related field is required. The position of research assistant professor requires postdoc experience in principle. Familiarity with model Hamiltonian and programming is preferred, but capable and enthusiastic applicants with varied background will be considered too. The research will broadly develop computational modelling skills and have opportunities to work closely with superior experimental groups.

The appointment for postdoctoral researcher and research assistant professor is initially for one year and can be extended depending on performance. We provide competitive salaries for these positions. Depending on qualification and performance, the salary for postdoctoral researcher and research assistant professor start from between 320,000 and 370,000 RMB/yr, respectively.
