A PhD position is available in computational molecular biophysics at the IAS-5 / INM-9 Computational Biomedicine Institute of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

The computational research will be mainly carried out at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, which is one of the largest research centers in Germany, with excellent scientific equipment and leading European computational resources, located on a green campus, and near the cultural centers Köln, Düsseldorf, and Aachen.

The candidate must have a master in physics, (bio-)chemistry, or related field and an excellent background in theoretical condensed matter or biological physics and/or theoretical chemistry. Excellent knowledge of the English language is required. Familiarity with the Unix operating system is required as well, while some knowledge in programming is a plus.

Only candidates younger than 30 years can be considered.

The 3-year PhD position, in a creative and international environment with the opportunity to work in a unique interdisciplinary team, is immediately available. Payment of the PhD fellow will be based on salary grade EG 13 (50%) Collective Agreement for the Civil Service (TVöD).
