Soliciting for topics of Psi-k/CECAM Research Conferences in 2017 and 2018
The history of these events goes back to early 1990s, when the Psi-k Network organized a series of Gordon Conference-type meetings with the support of the European Science Foundation.The format of these events is made to explore the frontiers of and emerging topics for computational electronic-structure, materials and molecular sciences, with ample time for discussion and exchange of ideas. The number of participants is typically around 100.
More recently, these events have been supported jointly be the Psi-k Community and CECAM. The topics of the conferences have included
Catalysis from First Principles (2011)
Computational Oxide Spintronics (2012)
Multiscale Modelling from First Principles (2013)
Materials Design and Discovery (2015)
Reports of these events can be found at the Psi-k website psi-k.net.
I now solicit for proposals for topics of Psi-k/CECAM Research Conferences to be organized in 2017 and 2018. The proposals should include a scientific justification of the meeting, with suggestions for organizers, venue, and time as well as names of possible invited participants. Ideas and suggestions from the community are welcome.
Please send the proposals to the Chairman of Psi-k, [email protected] before May 1, 2016.The Trustees of Psi-k will then enter into negotiations with selected proposers concerning the budget and arrangements, and seek for CECAM endorsement of the events.
