Dear Psi-K members,

Registration is now open for the focus workshop on "Emergence and non-equilibrium physics: algorithmic perspectives on complex matter”, to be held at the University of Kent on 30th April and 1st May 2019.

This 2-day workshop will showcase developments in numerical approaches available to explore emergent orders and their theoretical foundations, with an added focus on the non-equilibrium responses and phase transitions. The workshop will bring together experts in both quantum systems and classical systems, to stimulate discussion and exchange of ideas across disciplines.

Confirmed invited speakers:

George Booth, King's College London
Stephen Clark, University of Bristol
Juan Garrahan, University of Nottingham
Andrew Green, University College London
Emanuel Gull, University of Michigan
Werner Krauth, Ecole Normale SupÈrieure, Paris
Zlatko Papic, University of Leeds
Frank Pollmann, Technical University Munich
Ulrich Schneider, University of Cambridge
David Schwab, CUNY Graduate Center
Luca Tagliacozzo, University of Strathclyde
Thorsten Wahl, University of Oxford

Registration is now open at:

https://research.kent.ac.uk/theoryandsimulation/emneq-algorithms/
Deadline for registration: 21 April 2019; Accommodation can be booked on site within availability.

We acknowledge support from the EPSRC NetworkPlus on Emergence and Non-Equilibrium Physics and the School of Physical Sciences, University of Kent. UK academics may join the network to receive free participation.

Looking forward to welcoming you in Canterbury.

Dear Psi-k community,

the program for the focus workshop on "Algorithmic Perspectives on Complex Matter" is now available online at https://research.kent.ac.uk/theoryandsimulation/emneq-algorithms/

Workshop topics include:
* Dynamics of strongly correlated matter
* Innovations as the crossover of classical statistical physics and quantum mechanics
* Neural Networks for Condensed Matter Systems
* Interplay of Disorder and Dynamics
* New method development

Please register by April 21st, via the google form at https://forms.gle/AeNNkHZXg9fRYMjbA

I would be grateful if you could advertise the event at your institutions using the poster at http://bit.ly/EMNEQ-algo-poster
