PhD position at King's College London: Non-equilibrium heat and charge carriers dynamics in low-dimensional systems investigated using Non-Equilibrium Green’s Functions and Boltzmann’s transport equation methods
Applications are invited from exceptional candidates for a PhD studentship in condensed matter physics at King's College London in the group of Prof Lev Kantorovitch and Dr Nicola Bonini. The research will focus on developing and applying computational techniques based on the Boltzmann transport and the non-equilibrium Green function formalisms to investigate electronic and thermal transport properties, and non-equilibrium carriers dynamics in low dimensional systems. The project will also involve the use of state-of-the-art first-principles techniques (based on density functional theory and its extensions) to accurately compute carriers and their interactions in complex materials.
Full funding is available for UK / EU candidates. Applicants from other countries are welcome to apply, but would need to cover international student fees from other sources.
